The Jim Blurton Barshoes & Tools Team recently competed at the YFEDA Four Man Team World Championships 2016, placing first in the competition and being declared the 2016 winners with a number of the team’s competitors also ranking individually.

The Yorkshire Farriers Education & Demonstration Association takes place at the Great Yorkshire Show each year and is well attended by the Farriers from throughout the UK. The show is also an important meet up for farriers.

This year the Jim Blurton Barshoes & Tools Team was represented by Andy Reader-Smith, Gavin Galby, Matt Randles and Jonathan Nunn.

A world recognised farrier, with over 40 years of competitive experience, Jim Blurton was due to participate in the competition, but due to injury had to withdraw – with Jonathan joining the team with 48 hours notice.

Jonathan not only helped the team win the competition, but also had high overall individual scores – something that highlights the expertise and skill of the Staffordshire based farrier.

Overall the team placed first with a combined scored of 354 points for their work in the Roadster, Open Hunter Shoeing, and Barshoes.

Jim Blurton said:

‘A huge congratulations to the team on their impressive win. I was disappointed not to be able to participate, but it was great that Jon could step in at such short notice. Everyone did incredibly well, and the hours of practice and dedication paid off. We’re looking forward to 2017 to showcase our skills at next year’s event.’

Jonathan Nunn said:

‘It was an honour to compete alongside Matt, Andy and Gav in the world team championship for team Jim Blurton Bar Shoes and I’m looking forward to competing for the team at the world Horseshoeing Classic with team Jim Blurton in Kentucky 2017.’

The Jim Blurton Barshoes & Tools Team will next be competing at the World Horseshoeing Classic Competition in Kentucky in March 2017.
