Jim Blurton will be attending the Arthur Cottam Autumn Open Day on 26th November 2016, where he will be holding a workshop on the use of bar shoes and crack repairs of hooves.

Jim Blurton is a worldwide-recognised farrier who has developed his own range of specialist tools and horseshoes throughout his time in the industry, and will be demonstrating this expertise at the workshop. The world recognised Jim Blurton Bar Shoes will be showcased, with Jim on hand to provide specialist guidance on how and when to use bar shoes, and how to get the most from them.

 The Arthur Cottam Horseshoe Company was founded in 1923, and in the last 25 years has developed an extensive range of tools and horseshoes, as well as supporting independent suppliers’ products including the Jim Blurton Bar Shoe range. The event will take place at Arthur Cottam’s base in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, taking place between 9.00am – 4.00pm, the upcoming workshop in November is an open event with all guests welcome to attend Jim’s demonstration. 

Andrew Poynton, a specialist in remedial farriery, will also be attending – carrying out an imprint demonstration at the open event. Farriers attending the event will be able to count both demonstrations as part of their Continual Professional Development training (counting for 4 points), as well as being able to speak to the experts on hand.

Jim Blurton regularly hosts a range of workshops and demonstrations, in the UK and international locations, with his most recent teaching clinics taking place in Portugal, and also at the Rio 2016 Olympics where he enthusiastically spearheaded an educational legacy for the farrier professionals attending – including setting up demonstrations and workshops led by international professionals.
