Centre Punch Wooden Handle

£47.10 ex VAT

The Jim Blurton centre punch with wooden handle is designed to mark the centre point of the steel when shoemaking.
The head of the tool is positioned under the centre to maximise the power of the hammer blow. The centre punch is made from S1 tool steel, an air hardened tool steel which is easily maintained. The ergonomically designed handle is made out of 18” hickory.
Available as part of the Jim Blurton Professional Farrier Tool range, the centre punch with wooden handle was developed and tested at Jim’s forge in Mid Wales. It has been tested by some of the world’s leading farriers and equine experts, and is now available worldwide online.

Maintenance

The centre punch with wooden handle offers the best performance when it is maintained well. It is recommended that sharpening of the centre punch is done at normal forging temperatures and allowed to air cool. The centre punch should ideally be placed on the side of the forge whilst cooling. It is not recommended that the centre punch is placed on a cold surface as sudden cooling may cause stress fractures. Any burrs that may occur on the head should be regularly ground back.
