Jim Blurton, a third generation farrier with world recognised expertise, regularly holds farrier clinics in the UK and locations worldwide.

Jim has recently held a clinic in Portugal (October 2016), working with international distributing partners, providing instruction to local farriers as well as showcasing the expert range of tools and horseshoes developed by Jim Blurton.

The clinic covered a number of topics from selecting the correct shoe for each horse and the different conditions they can treat, through to the shoeing process with the recommended tools.

On 28th/ 29th November 2016, Jim will be leading a specialist clinic in Norway, focusing on the heart bar shoe, the exclusive design developed by Jim and his team for the treatment of such conditions as laminitis and flat foot.

The clinic will focus on ‘when and how to fit heart bar shoes’ with Jim providing a masterclass in how to make the most of the shoe design and tools.

Jim’s specialist clinics follow on from his recent attendance at the Rio 2016 Olympics, where he held the role of International Technical Officer and led a team of 5 farrier experts from the UK.

During the Olympics, Jim and his team provided technical and physical support to equestrian teams attending the event, as well as leading a number of workshops and presentations to the attending farriers and staff.

With leading experts from around the world on site, Jim’s wish to create an educational legacy at future Olympics; educating the next generation of farriers and animal professionals through workshops and demonstrations on site, is something that he is actively working on.
