Barefoot Ground pad demonstration – What to expect at the Modern Material Clinic.

  • With appropriate fit there should be no wall interference
  • Relatively inexpensive product
  • Do not use a “super fast” product or similar
  • We advise application with 3D Glue. Farrier friendly, 40% bio matter, no nasty fumes, minimal hazards and safe to fly.
  • A dry, clean application is vital. Strongly recommend that the horse is stabled night prior. Nappies can also be used to draw out moisture, along with the use of a heat gun immediately prior to application.
  • Clean up the sole! If you adhere to exfoliating sole your pads are NOT going to stay on well.
  • Robbie Miller Awcf Cjf discusses his repeated success with pad retention with shoe throwers in very wet Cape Town weather
  • Pay particular attention to the bars! Too high, overlapping, not flush with sole… Your pad is going to lift/not achieve a uniform seal
