Ground / Barefoot pads are not just for the transition from shoes to barefoot but can offer more comfort to barefoot when needed. If a horse has thin soles, then these offer protection and relief. The design nature of the pads assists in helping make a concave sole. The unique design pressure plate helps the glue to spread evenly across the pad.
The pad helps strengthen the hoof over time and start to grow a stronger hoof which allows the foot to develop in its natural state, it also offers extra grip on grass and surfaces. Ground pads are a great option to use on long rides rather than hoof boots that have the potential to rub. Perfect for all types of horses these pads can give a layer of protection without the need for shoes.
When glueing to the sole a flexible and compressible formulation glue should be used.
